Preventative Care

At Victoria Veterinary Hospital, we know that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Getting to know your pets so that we can customize their personal care routine is a critical part of keeping your pet healthy. We make vaccination and preventative care recommendations based on your individual pet’s unique needs, lifestyle, risk for exposure, and other factors.

To ensure a longer, healthier life for your furball, we also advocate other preventative measures such as flea & tick prevention and heartworm prevention. Monthly doses of these medicines can save you and your pet from costly – and potentially deadly – diseases. Let us make it easy to get your pet started on this path to wellness and living its best life.

Diagnostics & Laboratory

Sometimes, our pets tell us when something is bothering them. Other times, their pain may be harder to detect. Changes in animal behavior are often a signal an underlying physical problem.

At Victoria Veterinary Hospital, we are equipped with a veterinary medical laboratory and diagnostic equipment, ready to seek the source of any health problems your pet may be experiencing. When a pet is diagnosed with a chronic illness, we can customize a plan of action to manage the disease, ensuring your loved one the best care possible.

Our online pharmacy is also there to accommodate pets’ prescription needs, making it easy for your pet to get refills delivered straight to your house or available at the hospital for pickup.

Reproductive Care / Spay & Neuter

If your pet has a litter on the way, we are here to help ensure their reproductive health along the way.  Exams for pregnant pets can be a necessary step to bringing about a happy litter and maintaining a healthy mother.

An equally important part of reproductive health is determining when to spay or neuter your pet. Victoria Veterinary Hospital routinely performs these surgeries and is happy to schedule a consult with you regarding your pet’s reproductive health.

Dental Care

Does anybody really love going to the dentist? Probably not, but could you imagine the health of your teeth if you had never been to a dentist?! When was the last time your pet had their teeth cleaned?

Regular teeth cleaning is important not just for better breath and your furball’s beautiful smile but because good dental health plays an important role in your pet’s overall well-being. Beyond maintaining dental hygiene, we can repair issues your pet may be experiencing and help give you the tools necessary to keep them smiling from ear to ear.

X-Ray & Ultrasound

Sometimes the best way to diagnose a medical problem is to get a better look inside and see what is happening. Our X-Ray is a critical tool in diagnosing any number of health conditions that we see on a regular basis. Our trained technicians take digital images of the inside of your pet to determine how to best help your furball.

At Victoria Veterinary Hospital, we also utilize a traveling ultrasound specialist to assist in the care of your cat or dog. An ultrasound enables us to examine internal organs in detail, allowing us to diagnose a range of conditions that animals are susceptible to.
